TAMALPAIS, Calif., July 3. RICH Burns of the Tamalpais Aquatic Masters (TAM), swimming in the men's 60 to 64 age group, broke the Masters world record for the 50-meter backstroke in a time of 32.11 at the Burlingame Splash and Dash competition.
The record comes on the heels of Burns' world record-breaking performance just last week in the 100-meter backstroke (1:12.46).
The Splash and Dash requires swimming 50-meters of each stroke - back, fly, breast and free. Burns finished first in all 4 events in his age group. TAM
swimmers Ken Frost, swimming in the 55 to 59 age group, finished first in the 50-meter breast and fly, and Robert MacKenzie in the 25-29 age group, was a winner in the 50m fly, breast and free events.
