DOT DONNELLY RELEASED FROM INTENSIVE CARE

By Phillip Whitten

INDIANAPOLIS, May 2. Former USMS Executive Secretary Dorothy Donnelly was released from the Intensive Care Unit at the Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis today.

Donnelly, 78, one of the original movers and shakers in Masters Swimming, was taken to the hospital the day before the USMS Short Course Nationals began last week, feeling faint. Tests revealed that she had a build-up of fluid in her lungs as well as a heart arrythmia.

During the four days of the Nationals, Dot was visited by a steady, seemingly unending, stream of visitors–friends and admirers all–which boosted her spirits and spedher recovery.

Dot's grandson, Zack, is flying to Indianapolis this evening. He will accompany her on a flight back to her home in Massachusetts tomorrow.

All of masters Swimming joins in wishing Dot a full and speedy recovery.
