CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, May 18. SWIMMAC’s Tyler Clary had an eventful day yesterday.

After scratching the second full day of the Arena Grand Prix in Charlotte, Clary had been scheduled to swim as part of a triathlon with NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson, before taking part in an All Star race at the track.

Those plans were derailed when Clary’s girlfriend woke up with an allergic reaction and he helped nurse her back to health with an emergency room stint that spanned 5 a.m. until 11 a.m. Once he was sure everything was fine back at home, Clary went to the track with Johnson and had a blast.

Clary returned today with a full focus on swimming at the Grand Prix.
