GREENSBORO − Kirsty Coventry is back. The native of Zimbabwe and seven-time Olympic medalist took a hiatus from the sport following the London Olympics in 2012, but she has returned to training and competing, which included an appearance on Friday at USA Swimming Sectionals in Greensboro.

Prior to competing in the finals of the 200 free and 100 fly, Coventry took a few minutes to sit down with Swimming World’s David Rieder to discuss her comeback. Coventry spoke about, when she decided to return to swimming, her experience at her last Olympics in London, how she ended up training with SwimMAC Carolina in Charlotte, and her goals for this summer’s World Championships.

In finals, Coventry ended up tying for third in the 200 free in 1:47.58 and finishing 14th in the 100 fly in 56.43. Check out the full interview with Coventry below.
