Vereshchagin Breaks Ohio HS State Record

CANTON, Ohio. March, 3. WITH three different meets going on at once, there was a lot to see as the division I girls and boys competed alongside the division II girls at the Ohio high school state championships.

For the division I girls it was Columbus Upper Arlington High School that took the win at state with 319 points. For the boys it was Cincinnati St. Xavier High School with 289 points. For the division II girls it was Gates Mills Hawken with 346 points.

There were many fast times swum, but it was Alisa Vereshchagin that broke a record. In the 100 breast the sophomore from Solon clocked in at 1:02.31, besting the old state record by just a nose.
