UC Irvine’s Kareem Adnan and Alexis Sheridan named Big West Athletes of the Week

IRVINE, Calif, January 15. SENIOR Kareem Adnan (Albuquerque, NM/El Dorado HS) and junior Alexis Sheridan (Crescenta Valley HS) were named Big West Athletes of the Week for their performances against Utah and Wyoming.

Adnan helped the Anteaters to victory against Wyoming, winning with 500 and 1,000 freestyle events. Against Utah, he won the 500 free event and finished second in the 1,000. Adnan's fastest times in each event came in the dual meet against Utah. He recorded a 9:41.03 time in the 1,000 free and a 4:42.38 time in the 500 free.

Sheridan helped the Anteaters to dual meet victories over Utah and Wyoming with victories in the 500 and 1,000 freestyle events. Her times of 4:59.49 in the 500 free and 10:15.39 in the 1,000 each came in the races against Utah. Sheridan's time in the 1,000 is the third-fastest among Big West swimmers this season.
