U.S. National Team Beats Big Ten All-Stars

EVANSTON, IL – The U.S. National Team was victorious in 23 of the 32 events swam this past weekend against the Big Ten All-Stars in the Swim Meet of Champions held at the Norris Aquatics Center.

Sabir Muhammad, the former Stanford standout, had a great meet for the U.S. National Team. He set pool records on his way to victories in the 100m butterfly (55.80) and the 50m freestyle (23.43). Muhammad was also a member of the record-setting 400m freestyle relay, as the U.S. team took first place with a time of 3:28.85.

On the women’s side, 1996 Olympic gold medalist Cristina Teuscher was the star, winning three individual events. Teuscher set pool records in the 800m freestyle (8:46.75), 200m individual medley (2:20.69) and the 400m individual medley (4:49.93).
