The Morning Swim Show: Mark Schubert Analyzes Future of USA Swimming; Kathleen Hersey Discusses New Life at University of Texas

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 14. MARK Schubert and 2008 U.S. Olympian Kathleen Hersey are the guests on Tuesday's edition of The Morning Swim Show.

Schubert, the national team director for USA Swimming, talks to host Peter Busch from the Nelson Vargas coaches clinic in Mexico City. Schubert said he and others from the United States are open to making coaches from other countries better, hence the appearance of many of the country's best coaches in Mexico City. He also talks about the reaction of young fans in the United States during and after the Olympics, saying many of the kids found their motivation from their sports heroes.

Hersey, who competed in the 200 fly in the Olympics and is now a freshman at the University of Texas, joins the show to talk about her first couple of months in college. Not only did she break the school record in the 400 IM at an intrasquad meet earlier in October, but she said she's enjoying college life more than she expected. She talks about the goals she's set for herself and how the team is going about setting goals for the season.
