Team USA Crushes World Junior Record in Men’s 800 Free Relay at 2015 FINA World Junior Championships

Team USA crushed the World Junior record in the men’s 800-meter free relay at the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships.

Grant Shoults, Maxime Rooney, Sean Grieshop and Grant House turned in a sizzling time of 7:13.76.

That performance smashed the previous record of 7:15.36 set by Great Britain at the 2013 edition of the World Junior Championships with a foursome of Matthew Johnson, Max Litchfield, Caleb Hughes and James Guy.

Australia’s Damian Fyfe, Clyde Lewis, Kyle Chalmers and Joshua Parrish finished second in 7:17.76.

Russia’s Ernest Maskumov, Elisei Stepanov, Daniil Antipov and Aleksandr Prokofev claimed third in 7:19.45.

Spain (7:21.22), Canada (7:21.97), China (7:23.36) and Germany (7:26.99) finished fourth through seventh.

Brazil drew a disqualification with an early relay takeover.
