ORLANDO – Ryan Lochte finally made an appearance here at the Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando after missing the first two days of competition.

Women’s 200 IM

Caitlin Leverenz, who is sitting comfortably second in the points race, put up the top time of the 200 IM this morning with a 2:15.52.  The big question tonight is whether she can duplicate her Austin stop speed of 2:11.84 that ranks her fifth in the world.

Hannah Miley, who gutted her way through a tough night last night after doubling up on night one, took second in 2:15.77 this morning.

York YMCA 16-year-old Meghan Small placed third in 2:15.87 with Hurricane’s Katie Hoff taking fourth in 2:16.53.

Great Britain’s Georgia Coates (2:17.69), SwimMAC’s Katie Meili (2:18.04), Ozaukee’s Katie Drabot (2:18.68) and Saint Petersburg’s Melanie Margalis (2:18.74) also picked up spots in the finale.

Men’s 200 IM

Ryan Lochte, who just made it into town for the final day of racing after an exhausting trip to Australia, led the way in prelims with a 2:03.08.  That’s a far cry from his second-ranked season best of 1:58.57 from the BHP Super Series, but is good enough for the top seed.

Badger’s Cody Miller, who is having an incredible meet thus far, popped a second-place time of 2:03.76 this morning, while Great Britain’s Duncan Scott claimed third in 2:04.63.

Trojan’s Conor Dwyer secured a shot at some podium points with a fourth-place 2:04.75, while Club Wolverine’s Kyle Whitaker touched fifth in 2:04.89.

SwimMAC’s Marko Blazevski (2:06.08), Gator’s Marcin Cieslak (2:06.41) and Island’s Alec Page (2:06.52) also earned spots in the finale.

Women’s 200 back

Ontario’s Dominique Bouchard dominated prelims with a 2:12.05 for the top seed heading into tonight’s finals.

That swim is just two seconds off her third-ranked season best of 2:10.02 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.  She could have Fu Yuanhui’s world best (2:08.84) in her sights tonight.

Hilary Caldwell hit the wall second in 2:14.30, while Great Britain’s Charlotte Evans placed third in 2:16.40.

York YMCA’s Courtney Harnish claimed fourth in 2:18.22 with teammates Meghan Small (2:18.28) and Kacey Oberlander (2:18.63) taking fifth and sixth.

Blue Wave’s Maddie Hess (2:18.65) and Nitro’s Regan Barney (2:19.30) will also compete tonight.

Men’s 200 back

Louisville’s Grigory Tarasevich, who had a strong 100 back preliminary swim yesterday, led the way in the 200 this morning in 2:01.18.

Tucson Ford’s Matt Grevers, currently ranked fifth in the world with a 1:57.43 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series, placed second in 2:02.09.

NYAC’s Arkady Vyatchanin, a former Russian Olympian currently transitioning to Serbia, took third in 2:02.38.

Great Britain’s Luke Greenbank (2:02.74), Omar Pinzon (2:02.86), SwimMAC’s Tyler Clary (2:02.94), Club Wolverine’s Bobby Hurley (2:05.16) and Dynamo’s Michael Taylor (2:05.59) snared the rest of the transfer spots into the finale.

Women’s 100 free

Canada’s Victoria Poon earned the top seed in the 100 free this morning with a 56.07, while SwimMAC’s Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace touched a close second in 56.18.

Both have some time to cut to challenge the top 10 in the world currently anchored by Shen Duo’s 54.82 from the BHP Super Series.

Great Britain’s Lauren Quigley placed third in 56.29 with SwimAtlanta’s Amanda Weir taking fourth in 56.60.

SwimMAC’s Katie Meili snared fifth in 56.72 with Pointe-Claire’s Caroline Lapierre-Lemire snagging sixth in 56.79.

Hannah Riordan (56.80) and SoFlo’s Alia Atkinson (56.81) also made the finale.

Men’s 100 free

Club Wolverine’s Geoff Cheah closed out the morning qualifying with a 50.37 to lead the way in the 100 free.

Cardinal’s Joao De Lucca touched second in 50.45 with Auburn’s Marcelo Chierighini claiming third overall in 50.51.

Cheah’s teammates Michael Wynalda (50.60), Junya Koga (50.64) and Miguel Ortiz (50.74) also made the finale by placing fourth, sixth and eighth.

Bruno Fratus (50.63) and SwimAtlanta’s Karl Krug (50.68) also picked up lanes in the A final tonight.
