FORT WORTH – Rhory Legendre, a senior at The Woodlands High School in The Woodlands, Tex., has verbally committed to swim for the TCU Horned Frogs next season.

“I am very excited to add to their distance program and compete in the Big 12 Conference next fall,” he said. “I hope to make an impact for the Horned Frogs right away.”

Legendre, who trains at The Woodlands Swim Team, has already put up times that would make finals at the Big 12 Championships. His best events include the 200 free (1:43.02), 500 free (4:33.90), 1000 free (9:29.38), 1650 free (15:39.69), 200 fly (1:55.68) and 400 IM (4:43.16, LCM). He’s ranked 22nd in the state of Texas in Collegeswimming.com‘s recruit rankings.

Legendre’s 1650 free time would have placed third at the 2014 Big 12 Championships, while his 200 and 500 free times would have made the B final.

Legendre placed seventh in the 1500m free at this summer’s NCSA Summer Championships in Indianapolis, and has qualified for both the winter (800m and 1500m free) and summer Junior National Championships (1650y free).
