PHOENIX, Arizona, December 2. WONDERING how Swimming World Magazine names its World and Regional swimmers every year? Read about the voting process in this month's Voice for the Sport, explained by managing editor Jason Marsteller.
In order to be partial to each region, every year a panel of international Swimming World Magazine judges cast their voting ballots for World and Regional Swimmers of the Year. These judges rank their top-five athletes in each category. Points are awarded for each ranking, which are then totaled up to produce the final results. Watch the following Inside Swimming World Magazine video to hear and see all of the exciting content contained in this month's magazine!

As we prepare for the calendar to flip to 2013, thus officially
closing the door on the last year of the Michael Phelps era,
it seems appropriate to bid farewell one more time to the greatest
swimmer the sport has ever known.
