Neuburger Named One of Three to Lead US Olympic Delegation in Athens

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, June 19. DALE Neuburger, president of US Aquatic Sports (USAS) has been named one of three people to lead the U.S. delegation at the Athens Olympic Games, according to a story by David Woods in today's Indianapolis Star.

"Neuburger, 54, will be an assistant chef de mission and will manage operations in the athletes' village, where he will live. He also will march in the opening ceremonies on August 13.

"He will work with chef de mission Herman Frazier and assistant Mary McCagg in overseeing logistics, operations and security of the 800-person American team of athletes and officials."

Neuburger was surprised to be appointed to the position: "For me, it is the highlight of my volunteer activities with the U.S. Olympic Committee," Neuburger said.

Neuburger, a former president of USA Swimming (1996-2002), is a Vice President of FINA, swimming's international governing body, and chairman of the board for the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale.
