NCAA Releases Women’s Division I Preselection Psych Sheet: Missy Franklin Not Swimming Backstroke

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, March 3. USA Swimming put out the NCAA Women’s Division I Preselection Psych Sheets to the public, and there’s plenty of information to chew on as teams make sure their entries are correct before the final cut.

NCAA DI Women – Preselections Entry List

Notably, superstar Missy Franklin is slated to compete in the 200 free (top seed), 100 free (top seed) and 500 free (third seed). You know California is deep when the world record holder in the 200 back in both long course and short course, will not be competing in any backstroke outside of medley relay duty.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Beisel is entered in the 200 fly instead of the 200 IM, along with the 200 back and 400 IM. Considering she’s a star IMer, that’s a bit of a surprise coming out of Gainesville.

Recent star Emma Reaney of Notre Dame has a full slate with the 100/200 breaststroke showdowns with Texas A&M’s Breeja Larson, as well as the 200 IM. Although, don’t forget about speedy Lady Vol Molly Hannis in the 100 breast. Larson, however, is in the 50 free in her third event, hoping to move up from her 34th seed into scoring position for the Aggies.

The final selections will be made on Wednesday.
