Kennedy Lohman of Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville, Kentucky has announced her commitment to swim for Arizona in the fall of 2016. Lohman swims for Lakeside Swim Team and is already a decorated swimmer.

Lohman is a three-time Kentucky High School state champion in the 100-yard breast and holds the state record in the event with a 1:01.23. Her best time in the event, however, stands at 1:00.51, which she achieved when she placed first at the 2013 NCSA Junior Nationals. As a 15-16 year old, her time ranks ninth all-time. Her 200-yard breast, which stands 2:10.87, is 11th fastest all-time in that age group. She also placed 11th at the U.S. FINA World Championship Trials in 2013 in the 100 breast.

In long course, she’s busted out a 1:09.35 100-meter breast and a 2:34.84 200-meter breast. She’ll provide an instant spark for the Wildcats, who placed 15th in the NCAA Championships this year.

Lohman hails from a hotbed of highly ranked recruits. Grace Oglesby of nearby Cardinal Aquatics and North Oldham High School has already committed to Louisville, while her Sacred Heart teammates Asia Seidt and Brooke Bauer have yet to make their college commitments.
