Loveland Colo., USA February 8. FOR the second year in a row, a complete Colorado Time Systems (CTS) timing, scoring and display system will be utilized at the FINA World Swimming Cup event in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
The meet is scheduled for February 10 12, 2006 at the Minas Tenis
Clube Aquatic Complex.
CTS equipment was installed in February 2005, just prior to the 8th World Swimming Cup Event. Minas Tenis Clube Aquatic Complex boasts a complete 10-lane timing system comprising FINA-sized touchpads, relay judging platforms with speedlights, a timing console, and a Championship Start System. As an addition, an underwater speaker is used to clear the pool after warm-ups. The Minas Tenis Clube also houses a 3×5 meter CTS LED animation board.
Attendance at this event is anticipated to be high, as Kacio Marcio de Almeida set a new world short course record in the 50-meter butterfly at the Brazilian National Short Course Championships in Santos recently on December 18th. The 21-year-old touched in 22.60 seconds to better the previous mark of 22.71 set by American Ian Crocker at the Short Course World Championships.
