After winning the 200 IM last night, Virginia Tech’s Brandon Fiala broke the meet record in the 100 breast this morning. The junior’s time of 51.86 broke the old record of 52.17 set last year by Duke’s Peter Kropp, who is seeded fifth in the event going into finals, and was only .03 shy of the conference record. Florida State’s Jason Coombs was also under the previous record.
