Corinne Showalter Continues Win Streak; Dagny Knutson Triples at YMCA Nationals

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, April 4. DURING the third day of swimming at the YMCA National Championships, 16-year-old Corinne Showalter of Sarasota nabbed her fourth title as part of her team's 800 freestyle relay. Sarasota's team of Showalter (1:49.05), Kata Fodor (1:51.27), Marissa Harrington (1:52.65) and Ashley Largo (1:50.49) clocked a top time of 7:23.46.

Meanwhile, 15-year-old Dagny Knutson of Minot captured her third individual crown with a win in the 100 free in 50.22.

Additionally, 17-year-old Austin Detra of Sarasota picked up his third title as the leadoff leg for Sarasota's 800 freestyle relay in the men's meet. Detra (1:40.13), Patrick Ceddia (1:41.93), Mark Cox (1:42.91) and Drew Crete (1:43.97) won in 6:48.94.

Another multiple winner came in the form of Matt Donch of the Triangle Area as he won his second title of the meet with a 44.97 in the 100 free after winning the 100 fly yesterday.

Other winners included 17-year-old Leah Gingrich of West Shore (4:17.85) and Jesse Cohen of Lakeland Hills (3:56.69) in the 400 IM as well as 16-year-old Blair Collins of Sarasota (1:59.52) and Justin Farra of Ralph Stolle (1:50.03) in the 200 back.
