FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, July 7. THE Gold Medallion is one of the most prestigious honors to be given to a former swimmer who has devoted a lifetime of service to their community, and in 2014 the International Swimming Hall of Fame bestowed the award on Bob Dudley.

Dudley started his swimming career as a standout at Hinsdale High School, and pursued a career in the oil industry. Now a top executive at British Petroleum, Dudley’s contributions to the clean-up of the waters in the Gulf Coast during the 2010 oil spill was one of the reasons why he was singled out this year by ISHOF.
