LAWRENCE, Kansas, October 24. SEVENTH-ranked Texas tallied eight relay victories to capture the annual Big 12 Relays Friday afternoon at Kansas' Robinson Natatorium. The Horns totaled 102 points to edge Texas A&M, who registered 98 points. The victory was Texas' first at the Big 12 Relays since 2005.

Missouri and Kansas tied for third with 62 points, while Iowa State took fifth and Nebraska placed sixth. The Big 12 Relays serves as an opportunity for the league's teams to race relays in every stroke.

Texas opened with a win in the 300-yard butterfly relay, as freshman Kathleen Hersey, senior Hee-Jin Chang and freshman Leah Gingrich clocked 2:44.62. UT followed with a win in the 300 breaststroke relay, as sophomore Carlye Ellis, freshman Karlee Bispo and junior Alexi Spann finished in 3:12.67.

The Horns registered their third straight win by taking the 300 backstroke relay, as senior Rebecca Orr, sophomore Abbie Mahoney and Hersey finished in 2:47.24.
