MILLAU, France, August 26. TEN European records — two by Germany's Hannelore Roese — highlighted the first day of competition at the ninth edition of the European Masters Long course Championships in Millau, France.

Men 60-64: Gershon Shefa, 60, ISRAEL, 2:45.75

Women 55-59: Brigitte Merten, 55, GERMANY, 2:53.72
Women 60-64: Hannelore Roese, 61, GERMANY, 3:04.36

800 meter freestyle
Men 40-44: Michael Klieber, 40, GERMANY, 8:49.65
Men 45-49: Simon Veale, 47, GREAT BRITAIN, 9:26.95
Men 65-69: Fabrizio Momoni, 65, ITALY, 10:34.13

Women 30-34: Ana Paula Mendes-Grilo, 30, PORTUGAL, 9:37.05
Women 50-54: Claudia Koch, 51, GERMANY, 11:26.65
