Ryan Lochte Responds to “Saturday Night Live” Parody: “Pretty Harsh”

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 17. IT is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and Ryan Lochte seems to be flattered that he was lampooned on Saturday's season premiere of “Saturday Night Live.”

In a sketch on the regular fake news “Weekend Update” part of the show, host Seth MacFarlane played a version of Lochte, dressed in an NBC Olympics tracksuit and wearing a couple of medals that had no resemblance to any of the London 2012 medals handed out. But it wasn't the costume that was the focus of the parody. MacFarlane portrayed Lochte as one who didn't know how to count or pronounce such television shows as “Go On” (“Lochte” pronounced it as “Goon.”).

Today in an article posted on the celebrity news website celebuzz.com, Lochte said “Well I gotta admit that was a pretty harsh one, but it's cool to have Seth parody me,” he said. “I think he pegged me wrong, but when I heard he did a skit I knew I was in for it!”

Lochte seemed to be in good spirits about the sketch as he referenced the “Goon” joke in the article: “It's all in fun and of course if I'm talked about on “SNL” I know they are gonna get me 'Go-od,'”

Lochte has filmed cameos for upcoming episodes of the TV shows “90210” and “30 Rock,” but it's not known if Lochte has been approached to follow Michael Phelps' footsteps and host the show.
