U.S. National Age Group Record Roundup -- August 6, 2012

PHOENIX, Arizona, August 6. DURING the past week-and-a-half with the swimming community focused on the 2012 London Olympics, quite a few U.S. National Age Group records took a tumble.

Boys 10-and-under 200-meter freestyle relay
During the Metropolitan Swimming Junior Olympics Long Course Championships, held in East Meadow, N.Y. (July 27-29), the foursome of Nick Torres (30.66), Brendan Lee (31.33), Yugo Tsukikawa (30.76) and Ryan Maierle (29.27) combined for a time of 2:02.52 in the boys 10-and-under 200 free relay to take down the U.S. National Age Group record in the event. That swim eclipsed the 2:02.73 set by Arden Hills' Jeremy Szymanowski, Jason Kawakami, Jeffrey Piland and Kent Johnson way back in 1984.
