LOS ANGELES, California, October 13. FRESHMEN Jasmine Tosky and Kendyl Stewart each won twice in their USC debuts as did junior Meghan Hawthorne to help the Trojans defeat visiting Utah, 165-88, in a Pac-12 dual meet on Saturday (Oct. 13).

USC's 400y medley relay of Stewart, senior Kasey Carlson, and Tosky and freshman Kasia Wilk won in an NCAA `B' cut of 3:41.21. USC's `B' team of seniors Christel Simms, Jessica Schmitt, Yumi So and Kate Shumway were second in 3:44.75.

Senior Haley Anderson, the 2012 Olympic silver medalist in the marathon 10K, won the relatively much shorter but still grueling 1000y free in 9:49.60. Junior Lynette Lim took second (10:05.45) while freshman Nikki Chang was third (10:10.38).


Hawthorne (1:48.88) and junior Stina Gardell (1:50.53) finished first and second, respectively, in the 200y free. Shumway rounded it out in third (1:52.77).

Stewart claimed the 100y back in 55.41, edging Simms (55.42) while Utah's Traycie Swartz was third (56.90).

Schmitt (1:02.72), redshirt sophomore Andrea Kropp (1:03.81) and senior Jordan Danny finished 1-2-3 in the 100y breast. Tosky, out of lane 2, then won the 200y fly in 2:00.21. Distance specialist Anderson took second in 2:03.01 while So was third (2:03.79).

In the 50y free, Carlson touched first in 23.27 with Wilk second (23.70). Tosky, after the diving break, came back to win again, taking the 100y free in 50.74 to edge Simms' 51.12.
Stewart won again in the 200y back in 1:59.41, edging Hawthorne (2:00.46) while freshman Henriette Stenkvist was third (2:01.15).

Kropp, second in the 200y breast, won the 100y breast in 2:14.59, while Carlson took second in 2:18.17.

Gardell led start to finish to claim the 500y free in 4:53.84 while Chang kept pace with her to finish second in 4:55.87. So (55.61) then edged Schmitt (55.70) to win the 100y fly.

Hawthorne doubled up with a win in the 400y IM in 4:13.60 with Anderson second (4:18.22) and Kropp third (4:18.34).

USC closed the meet with a 1:33.45 win in the 200y free relay.
