NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships: Texas’ Drew Livingston Cruises to One-Meter Title

FEDERAL WAY, Washington, March 22. TEXAS' Drew Livingston gave the Longhorn back-to-back NCAA titles after amassing 448.10 points to win the men's one-meter diving title at the NCAA Division I Men's Championships.

On the heels of Jimmy Feigen's win in the 50 free, Texas claimed its 99th NCAA title in the history of the swimming and diving squad with Livingston's victory. Livingston won his second one-meter title, having first won it as a freshman in 2009 with 442.70 points before Purdue's David Boudia became a one-man wrecking crew the last two years. Livingston joins Troy Dumais, Skippy Browning and coach Matt Scoggin as other Longhorns that won multiple one-meter titles.

Stanford's Kristian Ipsen (410.15), Arizona State's Cameron Bradshaw (402.95), Arizona State's Constantin Blaha (402.15), Texas A&M's Grant Nel (376.40), Missouri's David Bonuchi (376.35), Virginia Tech's Logan Shinholser (374.80) and Indiana's Michael DellOrco II (366.45) also competed in the finale.

Arizona's Ben Grado won the consolation final with 396.20 points. Texas' Matt Cooper took a close second with 390.00 points. Kentucky's Greg Ferrucci (380.60), Indiana's Darian Schmidt (370.45), Indiana's Zach Nees (370.10), BYU's Brandon Watson (369.05), Texas A&M's Hayden Jones (363.90) and Tennessee's Ryan Helms (352.85) also competed in the afternoon.

California held onto the top team tally with 117.5 points. Stanford, however, made up some distance with Ipsen's performance to stand second with 110 points. Texas (96.5), Arizona (84) and Auburn (78.5) comprised the rest of the top five.
