Ashland vs. Findlay

FINDLAY, Ohio, October 14. THE University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened their season on Friday, October 14 with a dual meet at home against Ashland University. The women's team won by a score of 116-105 while the men's squad lost by a 160-61 margin.

On the women's side, Tanya Tikhonova, Molly Cade and Maddie Bell each won two events to pace the Oilers.

Tikhonova won the 1000-yard freestyle (11:02.01) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:23.40), Cade was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.43) and the 100-yard butterfly (59.98) and Bell won both the 1-meter (219.15) and 3-meter (194.26) dives.

Emily Thomas captured the top honors in the 50-yard freestyle (26.01) and Ailsa Hershaw won the 200-yard IM (2:14.79) to aid the Oilers victory.

On the men's side, David Soutoul and Dylan Webb each scored a pair of wins to pace the team.

Soutoul was first in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:18.28) and first in the 200-yard IM (1:56.69).

Webb meanwhile won the 1-meter (187.13) and 3-meter (209.34) dives.

Colton Sayers added a first place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.13).

The Oilers will be back in action again on October 22 when they host Lake Erie College in a dual meet beginning at 1 pm in Sink Natatorium.
