MONTREAL, Canada, July 19. ALTHOUGH balanced in scoring, the United States women dropped a one-goal decision to Hungary on Tuesday at the World Water Polo Championships. In a seesaw battle, the Americans came up short, falling 9-8. Through two games, the U.S. is still searching for a victory, having tied with Spain in its first match.

The United States held a 5-4 advantage in the second quarter, but Hungary charged back and held on for its narrow triumph. The U.S. received scoring from Lauren Wenger, Thalia Munro, Brenda Villa, Ericka Lorenz, Moriah Van Norman and Natalie Golda. The U.S. returns to action on Thursday with a meeting with China.
