Kraus Joins Staff at South Carolina as Assistant Coach

COLUMBIA, S.C., June 6. THE University of South Carolina has named Phil Kraus as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s programs, which are under the direction of Don Gibb. Kraus arrives at South Carolina after a four-year stint as an assistant at Miami University (Ohio).

"Phil is a great addition to our staff here at South Carolina," Gibb said "He has a positive and upbeat attitude and has been exposed to a program that won conference championships. There is a tremendous upside with him and he will really make an impact on our program."

At Miami, Kraus helped the men’s program win four Mid-American Conference titles. Prior to Miami, Kraus served as an assistant coach at Northern Illinois. Collegiately, he competed at Ball State and his brother, Leonard, is the women’s coach at Marshall University.
