Canales Family Has New Addition

Fernando J. Canales and his wife Mona Nyheim-Canales are delighted to announce the birth of Francisco Enrique Canales. He was born June 22, 1999 and weighed 8 lbs 8 oz. Fernando was a three-time Olympian, World Championship finalist and multiple medalist at the Pan American Games for Puerto Rico. He was also a four-year All-American at the University of Michigan (’82) and the flag bearer for Puerto Rico in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984. Mona was a Norwegian National Champion, European Championship finalist and she attended the University of Arizona. She is presently finishing her Phd in sports psychology. Francisco has an 8-year-old brother named Jordan Rafael and he is already making a big splash in the age-group ranks.
