Westminster Swimming Teams Post Dual Meet Sweep at Rollins College -- January 13, 2005

NEW WILMINGTON, PA, January 13. WESTMINSTER College reported its men's and women's swimming teams each posted non-conference dual meet wins over NCAA Division II member Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., this past Saturday.

The Titan men (7-0) remained unbeaten with a 107-92 win over the Tars, while the Lady Titans (5-2) posted their third straight win with a 125-78 decision.

Sophomore Ryan Trunk (Brookline, MA/Cheshire Academy H.S.) led the way for the Titan men with a pair of individual wins, as he captured both the 100 (49.28) and 200 freestyle (1:49.13).

Two Westminster women were triple winners against the Tars. Sophomore Sara Bonchosky (Uniontown /Laurel Highlands H.S.) won both the 200 (2:00.87) and 500 freestyle (5:31.90) while anchoring the winning 200 freestyle relay team, while classmate Megan McLaughlin (Wooster, OH/Wooster H.S.) touched first in both the 50 (25.88) and 100 freestyle (55.81) while anchoring the victorious 200 medley relay (1:57.65). Westminster swimming is off until next Sat., Jan. 15, when the Titans and Lady Titans travel to Pittsburgh for a non-conference dual meet at Carnegie Mellon University beginning at 1 p.m.
