Lincoln Djang Blasts Masters 400 IM World Record -- December 20, 2004

MISSION VIEJO, Calif., December 20. LINCOLN Djang, representing the Mission Viejo Nadadores, blasted the world record for men 45-49 in the 400 meters (short course) individual medley recently.

Swimming at the Northwest Zone Masters Championships in Portland, Oregon, November 13-14, Djang streaked to a time of 4:48.97.

The former record was 4:57.31 set in 2002 by Greg Dozer, of the Phoenix Swim Club Masters. We reported yesterday that Paul Carter, NOVA, had lowered the mark to 4:56.40 at a meet in Long Beach, California, two weeks ago, but Djang's swim occurred three weeks before Carter's.
