Hartley Wins Conference Diving Honor -- December 16, 2004

WALNUT CREEK, CA, December 16. UNIVERSITY of Southern California diver Blythe Hartley has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Women's Diver of the Month for November, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced yesterday.

Hartley, a junior from North Vancouver, B.C., swept the springboard events in meets against Arizona and Arizona State. Against the Wildcats, Hartley won the one-meter event with a score of 306.83 before taking the three-meter with a 313.35 mark. Versus the Sun Devils, Hartley recorded a 293.93 en route to the one-meter victory before completing the sweep with a score of 288.60 in the three-meter event.

The 2002 NCAA Women's Diver of the Year, Hartley competed in the 2004 Olympics for the Canadian National Team, winning a bronze medal in Athens in 10-meter synchronized diving.

This is the first monthly honor for Hartley, and USC's first Diver of the Month all-time.
