Sean Kelly Big Ten Swimmer of the Week -- November 7, 2004

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, November 7. UNIVERSITY of Minnesota junior Sean Kelly was named last week as the Big Ten Swimmer of the Week, per announcement from his school.

The Omaha, Neb. native won two individual events last Friday for the Golden Gophers in a losing effort at No. 4 Florida, 147-153.

The junior dominated both breaststroke events as he won the 100 by almost a second (56.81) and the 200 by exactly two seconds (2:04.13). Kelly was also part of a 200-yard medley relay team that finished second with a time of 1:30.22.

This is the first conference swimmer of the week award for Kelly. He was a 2004 All-American for the Gophers in the 200 medley relay.
