Two BYU Swimmers Garner Academic All-American from the CSCAA

PROVO, UT, September 8. BRIGHAM Young University has announced that Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) named Brittany Davis and Zachary Anderson to its annual academic All-American list after both swimmers posted noteworthy seasons in the pool and in the classroom.

The requirements of the award are a qualifying time for the NCAA Championships while maintaining a 3.5 G.P.A.

Davis swam an incredible freshman campaign with 11 individual wins, including a record-breaking time in the 200-meter backstroke at the Mountain West Conference Championships. Davis swam the event with an automatic NCAA qualifying time of 1:58.00. She has also been able to keep up in the classroom, having posted a G.P.A. of 3.59 in her first year at BYU.

Anderson made a big splash at the Mountain West Conference Championships placing in the top-three of three different events. Anderson placed second in the 200 and 1650-meter freestyle and captured an individual title in the 500-meter freestyle with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:25.40. Anderson competed well in the academic side of life at BYU earning a 3.86 G.P.A. after his sophomore season.
