Washington State Swimming Team Holds Annual Snake River Challenge -- September 7, 2004

PULLMAN, Wash., September 7. - Labor Day was just that for the Washington State University women's swim team as it participated in the Snake River Challenge yesterday, Sept. 6 at 11 a.m.

The event, which consists of a two mile swim followed by a two mile run, began at Granite Point and culminated at the WSU Boathouse.

The Snake River Challenge is a time honored tradition for the Cougar swim team. Cougar fans and alumni, as always, were welcome to attend.

"We hope it will be a fun and challenging experience for the team," WSU Head Coach Erica Quam said before the event. "We want to be able to get out and enjoy the area where we live and give the new swimmers a chance to experience it first hand."

The Cougars open their season at Gibb Pool with an intrasquad scrimmage Friday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m.
