Weir Breaks 11-12 NAG Record -- January 13, 1999

12-year-old Amanda Weir of Swim Atlanta destroyed the girls 11-12 national age group record in the 50 yd freestyle on January 9, clocking 23.15 seconds. The time broke one of the oldest records in the book, 23.71, set by Trina Radke in 1983 and Grace Cornelius in 1985.
