IOC Rejects Medals For 1976 U.S Relay Team

The International Olympic Committee denied medals or any other recognition to U.S. swimmers who lost to East Germans proven to have taken performance-enhancing drugs. The United States Olympic Committee was seeking “appropriate medal recognition” for Linda Jezek, Lauri Siering, Camille Wright and Shirley Babashoff, members of the U.S. medley relay team that lost to East Germany at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.
