1999 Pan Pacific Championships

With the reintroduction of semifinals to the 2000 Olympic Games swimming program, the Pan Pacific Charter Nations have decided to include semifinals in the 1999 Pan Pacific Championships.

In order to accommodate the semis, the men’s 800m freestyle and the women’s 1500m freestyle will not be contested in 1999. Consequently, athletes will not be selected from these events for the Pan Pacific team.
