Way Up North... -- March 17, 1998

In the Jan/Feb issue of SWIM Magazine, we ran a story about the intrepid members of the Montana Masters...and last year, we ran a story on the Alaska Masters. You gotta be tough to swim in the weather these hardy folks endure. Turns out, though, that these dauntless denizens of the frozen depths may not have a lock on swimming's cold-weather cajones award. That distinction may well belong to the Glacier Swim Club, up in Yellow-knife, Northwest Territories, the land of the midnight sun. The Glacier team, coached by Joanne Rozestraten, is one of 3 swim teams in the town of 18,000.
