Masters at Worlds -- December 28, 1997

Masters swimming was justifiably proud when Sheila Taormina became the first active, registered Masters swimmer to win Olympic gold (800 free relay) in Atlanta. At the World Championships next month, there will be 3 registered Masters on the U.S. squad: Ron Karnaugh, M.D., 31, the oldest swimmer on the U.S. National Team; co-captain Jon Olsen, 28; and Gary Hall Jr., 23.
