Doug Boyd Resigns as Rice University Coach -- April 24, 2002

HOUSTON, April 24. DOUG Boyd, Rice Unversity's women's swimming coach, unexpectedly resigned today.

Rice had recently finished 25th at NCAA's with
sprinter Mandy Mularz taking second in the 50 freestyle. Boyd, Rice's most successful swimming coach, will remain at Rice during the transition
period, and will pursue other coaching opportunities in Division I swimming.
