Memorial Service for Olympian Jerry Heidenreich Set for Thursday -- April 20, 2002

DALLAS, April 20. A memorial service for 1972 double Olympic champion, Jerry Heidenreich, will be held in Dallas this Thursday, April 25th at the Southern Methodist University indoor pool at 4:00 pm. A
reception will also be held at the pool at that time, announced Chris MacCurdy, Heidenreich's brother-in-law.

Heidenreich, 51, passed away last Thursday. He had suffered a stroke in 2001.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, any contributions be made to: "Friends of SMU Swimming" and sent to: SMU Mens Swimming and Diving, P.O. Box 234- SMU, Dallas, Texas, 75275.
