Husker Swimming and Diving Squad Takes 12th in Texas -- December 3, 2001

Austin, Texas- Freshman Kristen Gordon took home fourth place in the consolation final of the 200-yard backstroke (2:12.76), as the Nebraska swimming and diving team finished 12th at the 14-team Texas Invitational Sunday.

Gordon finished 20th overall in the race, despite finishing 30th in the preliminary heat with a time of 2:11.82.

Fifth-ranked Texas dominated the meet, finishing first with 719 points, while top-ranked Stanford finished second (598) and fourth-ranked Arizona finished third with 492 points.

The Huskers have the rest of the month off before traveling to Boca Raton, Fla., to face Florida Atlantic on Jan. 5.
