Four sports at CSUN saved...for now -- August 13, 1997

LOS ANGELES - Four men's sports dropped by Cal State Northridge got a reprieve when the school announced a loan would be used to keep the baseball, swimming and diving, soccer and volleyball programs going for one more year. Athletic director Paul Bubb said the university approved a $586,000 loan, which is a stopgap measure for the sports programs. Northridge was discontinuing the sports because of a lack of funds and the need to meet Title IX requirements.
