AQUATIC SPORTS – INDUSTRY PERSPECTIVES

The perception of Aquatic sports from different sectors of the sports industry will provide a point of discussion for the start of the conference during the FINA World Aquatics Convention.

Various stakeholders in aquatic sports will talk about 'their view' of the sport, its role in the world today and question how the sport can leverage its assets.
• How are aquatic sports viewed from within the Olympic movement?
• How do the media view the different aquatic disciplines?
• What can be done to increase coverage of aquatic sports between Olympic Games and World Championship events?
• What do cities hosting aquatic sport competitions such as FINA Championship events think about the sport and how events can be integrated into a city's wider strategy?
Christophe Dubi, Director of the IOC Sports Department will be joined by Claude Ruibal from Universal Sports Television Network and Peter Knowles, former Chief Executive of the Manchester 2008 FINA World Championships (currently Director of Sport Event Solutions Ltd), to present the views from their respective positions in the market.
