June 8, 2010 As an Alabama alum and former swimmer, I've known Joe for about 30 years. We were both exposed to the SEC during the height of the Tennessee/Alabama rivalry with coaches Ray Bussard and Don Gambril. Even with this, I never remember anything but kind words, warm smiles and a great competitor from Joe. He has always been, and will continue to be an example of sportsmanship to us all. This is truly a class guy. Prayers are with you Joe.
