Split Time, Feb. 3, 2010: Support for the Professional Athlete

PHOENIX, Arizona, February 3. THIS week's edition of Split Time looks into the troubles professional athletes face in the 21st century, as they attempt to make a living past their collegiate years.

Host Garrett McCaffrey is joined by USA Swimming athlete's representative Trent Staley. Staley is the co-chair on a new task force put together to try and find support for the professional swimmer. USA Swimming is looking at ways to pay post graduate, top level swimmers a more "livable" wage. The discussion covers ways to find that financial support, what kind of ideas are being discussed on a professional swimming league, and how the pro swimmer impacts all the other levels of the sport.
