Federica Pellegrini, Jo Jackson Withdraw from Duel in the Pool

MANCHESTER, England, December 4. ACCORDING to a report by The Guardian, Federica Pellegrini and Jo Jackson have pulled out of the Duel in the Pool scheduled for Dec. 18-19.

Pellegrini canceled due to a conflicting commitment, a ceremony to be held in Italy, while Jackson came down with what is reported to be "a respiratory infection." The first edition of the U.S. vs. the Europe All Stars Duel in the Pool has continued to lose some big names over in Europe. Paul Biedermann declined the chance to race due to a previous engagement in Russia.

Jaz Carlin has replaced Jackson on the European All Stars team. Pellegrini's replacement has not been officially named.
