Swimming World Five Star Melanie Margalis Makes College Pledge; 1/2/3 Star Rundown

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 17. ANOTHER day, another Bulldog. Swimming World five star Melanie Margalis gave Georgia another five star commit with her recent commitment.

Margalis, who swims for Saint Petersburg Aquatics and preps at Countryside, joins three other five stars as Georgia commits. Conor Sweeney, Jameson Hill and Shannon Vreeland have all made the call to Jack Bauerle to head to Athens, Ga., after their senior season.

Margalis would have qualified to compete in the 2009 NCAA Division I Championships in the 500-yard free (4:43.06), 200-yard IM (1:57.60), and 400-yard IM (4:10.71). She also owns a B cut in the 200-yard free (1:46.69), 200-yard back (1:57.93) and 100-yard breast (1:02.76).
