Tommy Hannan Added to KING Aquatics -- August 26, 2009

FEDERAL WAY, Washington, August 26. IN a transaction related to Sean Hutchison's move to Fullerton, Calif., to helm the USOC Professional and Post-Graduate Center to be housed at FAST, Tommy Hannan has been hired in a coaching capacity at KING Aquatics.

As previously reported, Hutchison did not rescind leadership control at KING and has moved into a managing director position. His transition to FAST, however, dictated the need for another deck coach at KING. Hannan has been hired to fill that slot as the National group coach.

Hannan will not be moving far from his last position as an assistant coach at the University of Washington. While at the now cut program, Hannan worked with the sprinters and helped with recruiting for the men's team.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Hannan won an Olympic gold medal as a member of the 400 medley relay at the 2000 Olympics. He also won a gold medal at the 1999 World University Games.

Hannan, who hails from Baltimore, Md., competed for four years collegiately as a Texas Longhorn where his squad won three NCAA titles. He helped a pair of relays to national titles as well, and is a 17-time All-American.
